Numberblocks Heroes with Zeroes — the big number heroes Ten to One Hundred
After One to Ten come the heroes with the zeroes: with the Heroes with Zeroes MathLink Cubes Activity Set by Learning Resources, children from age 3 build Numberblocks Ten, Twenty, Thirty … up to One Hundred — just as they appear in the series. The set holds 506 MathLink Cubes and 46 dual-connector cubes, plus faceplates, Numberlings, character cards, activity cards and accessories for the characters. Everything stored in a sturdy plastic case with lid — the biggest Numberblocks set for the playroom and the classroom.
What's in the set
- 506 MathLink Cubes in Numberblocks colours (rods of ten in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, grey and more)
- 46 dual-connector cubes for the large characters
- 21 faceplates, 10 Numberlings, 12 character accessories, 1 sticker sheet
- 10 double-sided activity cards and 10 double-sided character cards
- Activity guide and storage case with lid
What children learn
Counting in tens, bundling, place value (tens and ones), comparing and ordering to 100 and first calculations with big numbers — with their hands, not in the abstract. When children build Twenty from two rods of ten and see One Hundred as a square of ten tens in front of them, they understand the decimal system before they can even name it. The activity cards lead through activities linked to episodes of the series.
Who is the set for?
Numberblocks fans who already know the "small" characters, families with several children (lots of material!), nurseries and primary schools as a class-set addition. Recommended from age 3; the cubes are small parts.
Frequently asked questions
Do you need the 1-10 set as well? No, this set stands alone. Together with the 1–10 set, however, the whole number range from Zero to One Hundred can be set up.
How heavy is the set? Around 3.2 kg — the case is worth having as a permanent home for the cubes.
Do the cubes fit other MathLink sets? Yes, standard 2 cm MathLink Cubes, compatible with all MathLink products.
Tips & tricks
- Pre-build rods of ten: build ten tens first — then Twenty, Fifty and One Hundred are just clicking together.
- Place value game: say a number (e.g. 34), the child lays three tens and four ones.
- Tidying up as counting practice: cubes go back into the case in rods of ten — counting becomes routine.
Age: 3+. Warning: contains small parts, not for children under 3. Brand: Learning Resources.
