The Playfoam Mega Rainbow Pack is a sensory set with 32 bricks of foam dough in three varieties. Playfoam is made of thousands of tiny foam beads that cling together on their own: you can shape them into figures, squash them flat, squeeze them and start all over again. The material never dries out, doesn't crumble and doesn't stick to hands, carpet or table. Playfoam is made in Taiwan.
The set brings together Classic Playfoam in bold rainbow colours, Sparkle Playfoam with a glitter effect and Glow-in-the-Dark Playfoam, which glows once it has been charged in the light. The bricks blend with each other, so children can create colours and effects that cannot be bought ready-made. With 32 bricks there is enough material for several children at once or for many separate play sessions.
Three kinds of Playfoam in one pack, split into many small bricks, so you can combine colours deliberately or hand out single portions.
- 32 Playfoam bricks in total
- Classic Playfoam in rainbow colours
- Sparkle Playfoam with a glitter effect
- Glow-in-the-Dark Playfoam that glows after charging
- Bricks blend into custom colours
- Weight: 350 g
- Made in Taiwan
When you press them, the beads cling to each other instead of to your fingers. Unlike classic modelling dough, the material doesn't crumble and leaves no bits behind on the table or the carpet. Roll a ball, flatten it between your palms, poke holes into it and press everything back into one brick.
Because Playfoam contains no water that could evaporate, it stays mouldable. Finished figures can be pulled apart again and the material goes straight back into the pack.
Squishing and shaping keeps hands and fingers busy, mixing the colours trains the eye, and free building gives imagination and concentration something to do. The set suits nursery and school-age children, playgroups with many pairs of hands and anyone who likes sensory toys. Because Playfoam is quiet and leaves no crumbs behind, it works at the table, in the car and during quiet times, and just as well as a fidget for older children and adults who like something in their hands while they think.
Hold the glow bricks under a lamp for a few minutes, then switch the light off: the glow shows best in a dark room. If you want pure colours, blend only selected bricks and keep the rest apart, because mixed Playfoam stays mixed.
Shaping letters and numbers and laying them out on a sheet of paper turns squishing into handwriting practice. Stray beads on the table or carpet can be dabbed up with a Playfoam ball, which picks them up again. As a gift the set divides well, for example as filling for advent calendar pockets or as party bag favours at a children's birthday.
What is in the Mega Rainbow Pack? A total of 32 Playfoam bricks in three varieties: Classic in rainbow colours, Sparkle with a glitter effect and Glow-in-the-Dark.
Does Playfoam dry out? No. The foam beads contain no water that could evaporate, so the material stays mouldable.
Does Playfoam stick to clothes or hair? Playfoam is not sticky. Stray beads can be brushed off or picked up again with a Playfoam ball.
Can mixed colours be separated again? No, mixed stays mixed. If you want to keep colours pure, blend only selected bricks with each other.
How do you charge the glow bricks? Lay them under a lamp for a few minutes, after which they glow in the dark.
