Latex balloons with a mirror effect in gold are the glossy version of classic party balloons. The pack holds 12 latex balloons, each 33 cm in diameter once inflated, which is 13 inches. The surface is metallic and mirror-smooth, so it reflects light more clearly and more evenly than a matt standard metallic finish.
Gold reads as festive without shouting. These balloons are made for birthdays, children's parties and anniversaries, and you can fill them with helium so they float or with air so they stay put as a bouquet on a stick or fixed to the ceiling. With helium the balloons float for roughly 8 to 12 hours. Filled with air they look good for 1 to 3 days and work well as bouquets on sticks, as ceiling decoration or as table balloons that you anchor at the bottom with a weight.
If you have no helium cylinder, a florist or party shop can inflate them for you. Helium cylinders are sold from 30 francs. Inflating by mouth works too, though 12 balloons take a little patience.
Gold suits milestone birthdays, weddings and confirmations, New Year's Eve and a family anniversary. Mixed with white or black latex balloons you get a restrained black-tie look, and combined with mirror silver and mirror rosé gold they make a trio for a photo corner.
As a guide to quantities: 6 to 8 balloons for a birthday table, 12 balloons and therefore one pack for a bouquet in the entrance, 30 or more for a balloon wall built from several packs.
Inflate the balloons 2 to 4 hours before the event so they are fresh when guests arrive. Do not over-inflate them, because heavily stretched latex loses its mirror shine faster. Keep the uninflated balloons dry and cool until you need them, as heat makes latex brittle.
Outdoors in the shade the balloons do well, but in strong sun the heat expands the latex and they can pop. In windy spots it helps to tie the balloons together with bouquet strings. After the party, never let them rise into the sky: release the gas, put the balloons into general waste and the cardboard pack into paper recycling.
Can I fill the balloons with helium or with air? Both work. With helium they float, with air they stay on the floor, on a stick or against the ceiling.
