This escape room game brings a puzzle adventure right into the Christmas season. The story is quickly told: a present has gone missing, and Santa has to track it down. Ten puzzles revolve around letters, wish lists and wrapped gifts, the sort of things that are lying around the house at Christmas anyway. It is played by two to six people and one round takes around 45 minutes. The title on the box reads Escape Room - Santa's Mission.

That makes it a Christmas game for the family, easy to slot in between the meal and the presents. The packaging, the puzzles and the instructions are in English, as this is the English edition, so the group needs some English. Product and packaging are made from FSC MIX paper and are recyclable. The box measures 18 x 14 cm and weighs 135 g. Recommended for ages 8 and up.

The box holds everything a round needs: the ten puzzles, a set of props to handle, an introduction to the story, a notepad and the instructions.

  • 10 puzzles
  • 1 set of props
  • 1 introduction
  • 1 notepad
  • 1 set of instructions
  • Around 45 minutes per round
  • For 2 to 6 players
  • Recommended for ages 8 and up
  • Material: FSC MIX paper for product and packaging, recyclable
  • Box: 18 x 14 cm
  • Weight: 135 g
  • Language: English edition

The introduction sets up the case of the missing present. The group then works through the ten puzzles, with the notepad ready for interim findings and the set of props as part of the game material. All ten puzzles stay with the theme: letters, wish lists and wrapped gifts.

Because everyone is working on the same task, this is a game for the whole table rather than for soloists. Around 45 minutes later it is clear where the present ended up.

Two to six players, recommended for ages 8 and up: the game is built for groups in which children and adults puzzle together. As all the text is in English, the group needs some English. For friends who want something other than cards over the holidays, around 45 minutes is well judged.

As a gift the box works for Christmas Day itself, for a Christmas party at the club or the office and for any family gathering during Advent. At 18 x 14 cm and 135 g it is light enough to post in a small parcel and small enough to fit into a gift sack.

Clear the table before you start: the props and the notepad need room, and nobody enjoys hunting for a puzzle piece under the biscuit plate. Read the introduction out loud so that everybody begins on the same page.

Set aside around 45 minutes without interruptions so the ten puzzles can be worked through in one go. Check in advance that everyone at the table understands enough English, since the packaging, puzzles and instructions are in English. And as product and packaging are FSC MIX paper, both can be recycled afterwards.
