Smiley Return Ball with Finger Loop

The idea explains itself: the finger strap goes around a finger, the hook-and-loop fastening is pressed shut, and your child throws the ball forward. The elastic cord connects ball and hand, and the ball springs back. Catch, throw again, catch again, that is the whole routine.

No batteries are needed, no app and no second player. The motif is just as self-explanatory: every child recognises a smiley face, whatever language they speak and whether or not they can read yet. That makes the return ball a party favour you can choose even for guests you hardly know.

The ball measures 6 cm in diameter, with the elastic cord and the finger strap at the other end. The only variable is the colour: the smiley face appears in 4 versions and chance decides which one arrives. Everything at a glance:

• Ball with a smiley face on an elastic cord
• Finger strap with a hook-and-loop fastening
• Ball diameter: 6 cm
• Smiley face in 4 different colours, supplied at random
• CE certified
• Made in China
• Recommended for ages 3 and up

Recommended for ages 3 and up, the return ball is aimed at children who would rather move than sit still. It is a classic for the party bag at a children's birthday, it works as a small reward along the way, and it stays an inexpensive little gift when you want to bring something with you.

If you need party favours for a whole group, you can order the ball several times over. Each child then gets one with a smiley face, and which of the 4 colours is in the parcel shows up when you unpack it.

If you order several balls for a birthday party, remember that the colours are supplied at random and that repeats are possible. Rather than planning for four different colours, simply hand the balls out as they arrive.

In a party bag the ball combines well with other small items, because it adds something active next to stickers or sweets. Used as a reward, it has the advantage that the colour stays a surprise until the wrapping comes off. And at 6 cm across it remains a small extra rather than competition for the main present.

How does the return ball work? The ball hangs from an elastic cord with a finger strap. You put the strap around a finger, throw the ball, and it springs back into your hand.

How big is the ball? The ball has a diameter of 6 cm.

Can I choose the colour? No. The smiley face comes in 4 different colours and one of them is supplied at random.

What age is the ball suitable for? It is recommended for ages 3 and up. The ball is CE certified.

What kind of gift does it make? One for the party bag at a children's birthday, a small reward, or an inexpensive little something to bring along.
