Herb Planter Zinc 30 cm Organic – Your own herb garden on the windowsill! This elegant zinc planter in anthracite comes with everything you need for fresh organic herbs: basil, coriander and thyme.
Simply fill the planter with soil, sow the seeds and water regularly. After a few weeks, you'll be harvesting your own fresh herbs – perfect for salads, pasta and cocktails. The sturdy zinc planter with two metal handles looks stylish on any windowsill or balcony.
- Fill with soil: Spread the included soil evenly in the planter and press down lightly.
- Sow seeds: Scatter each seed packet in a section. Tip: basil and coriander on the sides, thyme in the middle.
- Cover lightly: Cover seeds thinly with soil (basil needs light to germinate – just press down, don't cover!).
- Keep moist: Mist regularly with a spray bottle. Don't flood.
- Location: Bright windowsill, at least 5–6 hours of light per day. Ideal: 18–25 °C.
- Basil: Germinates in 5–7 days. First harvest after 4–6 weeks. Always cut above a leaf pair.
- Coriander: Germinates in 10–14 days. Harvest after 6–8 weeks. Leaves and stems are edible.
- Thyme: Germinates in 14–21 days. Harvest from 8 weeks. Grows slowly but stays compact and hardy.
- Watering: Water in the morning, not on the leaves. Basil needs more water than thyme.
- Fertilising: After 4 weeks, use herb fertiliser every 2 weeks.
- Harvesting: Regular harvesting promotes bushy growth.
- Drainage: The zinc planter has no drainage holes – avoid overwatering.
Can the planter go on the balcony?
Yes! From May onwards, a balcony spot is ideal. The zinc planter is weatherproof.
Are the seeds really organic?
Yes, all three seed varieties are certified organic (FR-BIO-01).
What if everything germinates at once?
Thin out! Carefully remove densely packed seedlings to give the rest room to grow.
How long do the herbs last?
Basil is annual (one season), thyme is perennial and overwinters easily. Coriander bolts in heat – resow regularly.
Is it a good gift?
Perfect! The planter looks decorative even before sowing and comes ready-packaged.
