The Fairy Castle Cactus – also known as Cereus tetragonus – is not only a fascinating plant, but also a real eye-catcher for anyone who loves greenery with minimal effort. With these seeds, you can grow your own miniature cactus castle – tower by tower. Native to tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, this columnar cactus can reach up to 4–6 metres in height under ideal conditions, but stays compact and shapely when grown in a pot.
The name "Fairy Castle" fits perfectly: the plant forms branching stems that resemble small towers. Its four straight, prominent ribs and dense areoles with white or brown spines give it a distinctive, almost magical silhouette. With a bit of patience, large white flowers up to 15 cm in diameter may appear in summer at the tips of the stems.
Whether on a sunny windowsill, in a conservatory or outdoors in warm weather, this cactus is low-maintenance, undemanding, and rewards with slow but steady growth and a unique form.
