This 3D Christmas card is a greetings card and a gift in one: you write your message inside, and the recipient folds the sheets into a many-pointed star in neon pink and neon yellow. The cover shows the same star hanging against a light background, with the small printed German wording FROHES FEST underneath. It is printed with real neon colours that glow even in daylight.
The folding technique comes from Faltmeister, the illustration from HeyCards. The card is produced in Germany on FSC® certified 240 g premium paper: firmer in the hand, clean edges when folding, and a finished model that stands more steadily. At level 1 of 5, the winter star is ready in about 3 minutes.
The card has four card sides: the cover at the front, space for your own message at the back, and three craft sheets in between, printed on both sides. Closed it measures 12.5 × 17.6 cm, opened out 50 × 17.6 cm. A German folding guide comes with it, and its QR code leads to video instructions.
- 1 craft greetings card with three craft sheets
- 1 envelope
- 1 folding guide in German, with a QR code for the video instructions
- B6 card: 12.5 × 17.6 cm closed, 50 × 17.6 cm opened out
- 240 g premium paper, FSC® certified
- Printed with real neon colours in neon pink and neon yellow
- Fold and slot system, no tools needed, level 1 of 5
- Produced in Germany
- Not suitable for children under 3 years, contains small parts that can be swallowed (choking hazard)
The idea is simple: you write the card and send it in the envelope, and the recipient folds the 3D model from it, following the guide and slotting the sheets together until the many-pointed star takes shape, all without tools.
The finished model has a small hole for hanging, for example on the Advent wreath, on the Christmas tree or in the window. Once folded, the star stays as a decoration.
This card is for anyone looking for a plain, clear alternative to lots of glitter. The neon colours set a strong accent while the shape stays reduced, which works just as well for friends and family as for business contacts. As an Advent greeting or Christmas post it gives pleasure twice, when read and when folded. It is not suitable for children under 3 years, as it contains small parts that can be swallowed.
Write your message on the back before you slide the card into the envelope. Handing it over in person, point out the three craft sheets inside. Because the folding takes only about 3 minutes, the card also works as a shared activity on an Advent Sunday. Hang the finished star by its small hole, in the window for instance.
What does the card contain? You get one craft greetings card with three craft sheets, one envelope and one folding guide.
How long does the folding take? It takes about 3 minutes, and level 1 of 5 means it is very easy.
How big is the card? Closed it measures 12.5 × 17.6 cm in B6 format, opened out 50 × 17.6 cm.
Do I need any tools for the folding? No, the fold and slot system works without tools. A folding guide in German comes with the card, and its QR code leads to video instructions.
Is the card suitable for children? It is not suitable for children under 3 years, because it contains small parts that can be swallowed (choking hazard).
Berlin-based Faltmeister turns greeting cards into small crafting experiences: each card contains craft sheets from which the recipient folds a 3D model – no scissors or glue needed. Every model is designed by hand and tested several times by paper artist Olli («Ollanski») before it is produced in Germany with precise laser cutting on FSC®-certified paper. A few personal lines become a piece of art that doesn’t end up in a drawer but stays on display.
