This 3D Christmas card is a greeting card and a gift in one. You write your message inside, and the recipient folds the sheets in the middle into three 3D stars in neon pink, neon yellow and violet. The cover carries an illustrated garland of hanging stars and baubles in those colours, without lettering.
The card comes from a collaboration: the folding technique is by Faltmeister, the illustration by HeyCards. Everything needed sits on four card sides, and because the finished model can be hung up, it becomes decoration that packs away again after the holidays.
The card has four sides: the cover at the front, space for your greeting at the back and three craft sheets in between, printed on both sides. Each sheet becomes one star, and folded the three stand staggered.

Behind it is a simple fold and slot system: fold along the lines, slide the parts together, done. No tools are needed. It takes about 5 minutes at level 1 of 5, so it is finished in a few moves.
The printed folding guide is in German. If you prefer watching to reading, scan the QR code on the guide for the online video. The finished model has a small hole for hanging, on an Advent wreath, on the Christmas tree or in a window.
The card is printed on 240 g premium paper: firmer in the hand, clean edges when folded, a steadier stand for the finished model. The paper is FSC® certified and production takes place in Germany. Real neon inks are used, so neon pink and neon yellow glow even in daylight, next to classic red and gold.
The card suits anyone who likes decoration that can be tidied away again and enjoys sending cards with something extra: as a Christmas greeting, as a small gesture during Advent or as an extra in a Christmas parcel. It is not suitable for children under 3 years, as it contains small parts that can be swallowed (choking hazard).
Write your message before anything is folded, as the flat card side is easiest to write on. With about 5 minutes of folding, it also fits into a relaxed Advent evening. And if the card should travel with a present, slip it into the enclosed envelope and add it to the Christmas parcel.
