Stoneware Candle Holder with Gnome and Dog

The gnome wears a red pointed hat and a red coat, and on his back he carries a basket of fir greenery, as if he had just come back from the woods. A light dog with brown patches keeps him company, and both have room on the round plate.

The sand-coloured rim frames the red surfaces quietly, and the round candle socket is kept light as well. With a taper candle burning, the scene turns warm in the evening, on a snowy windowsill for instance.

The holder is made of stoneware and weighs 450 g. The plate measures 15.4 cm in diameter and the piece stands 9.3 cm high. Red and sand set the tone: the gnome's hat and coat in red, the rim of the plate and the socket in light shades. You receive one candle holder from the Juleminder collection, made in China.

The holder fits any home where Advent starts with candlelight and small figures. It is an obvious present for gnome fans, for anyone fond of Nordic Christmas decorations and for households with a dog.

The occasions are the familiar ones: Advent, Christmas, a Secret Santa round at the office and a visit to friends. As something to bring along to an Advent afternoon it is easy to carry and immediately understood. At home it works on the windowsill, on the hall chest of drawers or next to the Advent wreath.

Check the diameter when you buy candles: 2.1 cm is the measurement that sits in the socket. White or red tapers pick up the colours of the motif, while a natural shade leans more towards the sand-coloured rim.

A windowsill shows the scene off especially well, because the winter light from outside picks out the figures. If you are grouping several decorations, leave the holder enough room so that the basket and the pointed hat stay visible from the front. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it clear of curtains, branches and paper.

What is included? You receive one stoneware candle holder. A candle is not included, so you choose one to match the socket.

Which candles fit the socket? The socket is made for candles 2.1 cm in diameter, so classic tapers of that thickness.

How big is the candle holder? It is 9.3 cm high with a diameter of 15.4 cm, and it weighs 450 g.

What is it made of? Stoneware. It is made in China.

Does it work as a gift? Yes, it suits Secret Santa, an Advent visit or a small Christmas present for gnome and dog lovers.
