Make and Mix Slime Kit for Kids

Put 20 g of cornflour into the mixing bowl. Stir in 20 ml of hot water bit by bit until the mixture is smooth. Then add a little colour pigment powder and 10 ml of craft glue and stir well with a wooden stirrer. If the mixture is too wet, add more cornflour.

Decorating comes last: coloured sand for texture, googly eyes for a face, pompoms as bright dots. Shape the result into a small slime creature if you like.

The kit is recommended for ages 6 and up and is not suitable for children under 3 years. It suits children who enjoy stirring, mixing and seeing how a mixture changes when more powder or more water goes in.

The packaging carries a warning: the material may irritate skin or eyes. Wash hands after playing, and rinse with cold water if it gets into eyes or mouth.

Measure the cornflour, water and glue with the cup from the kit rather than by eye. If the mixture turns out too wet, more cornflour brings it back. Stir in the sand, googly eyes and pompoms once the base mixture is ready. Because hot water is part of the recipe, an adult is best placed to heat it and do the first stirring.
