Kuromi appeared in the Sanrio world in 2005 as My Melody's rival. She wears a black hood with a pink skull, rides a motorbike, keeps a diary and has a noticeably bigger ego than the rest of the Sanrio family. It is exactly this mix of punk attitude and kawaii that makes her the favourite of the range for everyone who finds Hello Kitty a little too well behaved.

Her companion Baku, the small black creature with the grinning face, appears on one of the pairs.

The set is deliberately put together so it does not serve only one colour. The black pair passes as an ordinary dark sock as long as the trousers are long — only when you sit down does it become clear what is actually knitted into it. The lilac pair is the boldest and the one that photographs best. The pink striped pair sits in between and goes best with light trainers. Whoever gives the set away will hit the mark regardless of the recipient's wardrobe.

All three pairs reach just below the knee and therefore show the motif along their full length. With a skirt, with shorts or under boots that works immediately; with long trousers the pattern stays hidden. If you prefer them shorter, fold the leg over once in a wide fold — they then sit at calf height and still do not slip.
