The Stranger Things Stationery Gift Set is a six-piece writing set in a box designed as a CRT television from the eighties. A dial, a speaker grille and a screen whose picture changes as you tilt it: here the packaging is already half the present. The set is made in Spain and is officially licensed Netflix merchandise for the series.
A lenticular film sits on the screen. From one angle the Stranger Things logo appears in blue, from the other the Demogorgon emerges in red. Inside waits a complete set of stationery, from the highlighter to the eraser, plus two keyrings. It suits fans who like the series but do not want a shelf full of collectible figures.
Six pieces plus the gift box itself. All of it is usable stationery rather than decoration: the highlighter highlights, the pen writes, the sharpener sharpens.
- Highlighter in red with a Demogorgon head topper
- Ballpoint pen in black and red with the Stranger Things logo
- Sharpener designed as a cassette recorder
- Eraser with a Demogorgon motif
- Notebook styled as a VHS cassette case
- Two keyrings with clips, one round, one in cassette shape
- Gift box in sturdy cardboard, CRT design with a lenticular screen
- Measurements as stated by the retailer: 4.0 x 4.0 x 24.0 cm
- Weight: 0.45 kg
- Officially licensed Netflix product, made in Spain
Lenticular printing uses a ridged plastic film with two interlaced images behind it. Depending on the viewing angle the ridges reveal one or the other: no power, no electronics, just optics. On this set the picture switches between the glowing blue logo and a red scene with the Demogorgon.
In the series the television is more than furniture: flickering screens, fairy lights and radios carry the connection between the two worlds. A box in this shape is therefore a reference fans understand immediately, and after unpacking it stays out because it works as an object, for pens, for cables or simply on a shelf.
For everyone who watched each season on release day, for teenagers with a soft spot for the eighties and for adults who watch the series as a ritual with their children. As a birthday present, as a Secret Santa gift at the office or as something to bring to a series night. The box is printed all over, so no extra wrapping paper is needed.
A writing set moves into the pencil case, onto the desk or into a jacket pocket, and it gets used rather than dusted. The VHS-format notebook suits lists, notes or sketches, and the two keyrings tend to disappear fastest: one onto the keys, one onto the backpack. The Demogorgon on the highlighter gets noticed in a meeting without anyone having to mention it.
Do not work at the lenticular film with a fingernail, it scratches easily. Keep the box, it is sturdy enough to store pens in. Store the highlighter lying flat, then the ink spreads evenly.
Before handing the set over, check that the clips on both keyrings run smoothly. Do not put the notebook in a jacket pocket together with the highlighter, or colour presses through.
How many pieces does the set contain? Six: highlighter, ballpoint pen, sharpener, eraser, notebook and two keyrings with clips. The gift box comes on top of that.
Does the picture on the box really change? Yes, through a lenticular film. Tilting it switches between the blue logo and the red Demogorgon, with no electronics involved.
Are the pieces usable or just decoration? All pieces are functioning stationery meant for everyday use.
Is the packaging ready to give? Yes, the box is printed all over and needs no extra wrapping paper.
Where is the set made? In Spain. It is officially licensed Netflix merchandise for the series.
