This treasure box holds 52 glass marbles, sorted by variety into their own compartments. There are 48 smaller marbles and 4 large shooter marbles, ready to leave the box and roll across the floor, the kitchen table or a patch of garden. Their colours follow four well-known dinosaurs: Tyrannosaurus, Diplodocus, Triceratops and Pterodactylus.
The lid is illustrated with a T-Rex, a long-necked dinosaur, a Triceratops and flying reptiles in a red rocky landscape, so the box itself is part of the dinosaur theme. The set is designed and assembled by hand in France, while the marbles are made in Mexico. That makes this marble set a toy and a small collection at once, the kind children sort through again and again.
The 52 pieces are made up of 8 marble varieties and 4 varieties of large shooter marbles. Each variety has its own compartment, and the marbles are brightly marbled in green, yellow, red, brown, white and turquoise.
- 52 pieces: 48 marbles and 4 large shooter marbles
- Marbles measuring 16 mm (1.6 cm) in diameter
- Large shooter marbles measuring 22/25 mm (2.2/2.5 cm)
- Marbled colours in green, yellow, red, brown, white and turquoise
- Lid illustrated with dinosaurs in a red rocky landscape
- Inner double blister, so the box can stand open without marbles falling out
- Composition: 69 % glass, 3 % plastic, 28 % paper and cardboard
- Complies with CE and ASTM/CPSIA standards
- Designed and assembled by hand in France, marbles made in Mexico
- Recommended for ages 3 and up
The marbles are marbled in green, yellow, red, brown, white and turquoise, so that several shades swirl together inside a single marble. The choice of colours takes its cue from Tyrannosaurus, Diplodocus, Triceratops and Pterodactylus, and children soon invent their own names for each variety.
The 4 large shooter marbles at 22/25 mm are noticeably bigger than the 48 marbles at 16 mm, and they are the eye-catchers among the smaller varieties in the box.
The set is recommended for ages 3 and up and speaks to dinosaur fans who enjoy sorting, swapping and collecting. Parents, grandparents and godparents reach for this box when a present should last longer than one afternoon: marbles come back out on the table time and again, alone or with brothers, sisters and friends.
As a gift it works for Christmas and birthdays, as a small something to bring along, and as a favourite at a dinosaur party, where the varieties travel from one guest to the next.
- Thanks to the double blister you can stand the box open, keeping every variety on display and still in place.
- Sort the marbles back into their compartments after playing, so the collection stays clear and you spot a missing one straight away.
- Take only a handful of marbles and one large shooter outside, and leave the rest in the box.
- For a dinosaur party, give each child one variety as their colour, so everybody knows which marble belongs to whom.
