First press the die-cut parts out of the sheets with your fingers; no scissors are needed. Then place the motif parts on the bags until every bag has a character of its own. The gold numbers go on as stickers so everyone can see which bag belongs to which day.

Filling comes last: fill the bag, fold the top over, add an adhesive dot. If you want to use the bags again next year, close them with a clothes peg instead and the paper stays intact.

The finished calendar works both standing and hanging. Lined up on a sideboard, on a window sill or gathered in a basket, the 24 bags read as a group, and because six bag designs meet two sheet designs the row looks varied rather than repetitive. Strung along a cord in the hallway or at a window, the calendar takes up no surface space at all. The bags hold chocolate, small toys, hair clips, stickers or rolled-up notes.

Build the figures together with the children over one afternoon, so the assembly becomes part of the anticipation rather than mere preparation. Stick the gold number centrally on the body and the face stays clear. Very heavy fillings make a bag tip over more easily, so lay those in flat. Display all 24 bags as a group instead of spreading them around the house, because the effect comes from the crowd. After 24 December the figures carry on as table decoration or as gift packaging. Because of the small parts, the set is not meant for toddlers.

Do I have to cut the parts out? No. All craft parts are pre-punched and can be pressed out of the sheet without scissors.

Is adhesive included? The set contains 24 double-sided adhesive dots for sealing the bags. The die-cut parts need no extra glue.

How big are the bags? Each bag measures 9 x 20 x 5.5 cm, leaving room for chocolate, small toys or rolled-up notes.

Does the calendar come filled? No, the contents are up to you. That way you can match every bag to the person you are giving it to.
