Paint-Your-Own Wooden Nutcracker Tree Decoration

First you paint the wooden figure with the six paints supplied. Then let the paint dry completely, which is the most important step. Only once everything is dry do you apply the stickers and glue the fur for the beard and hair in place. Finally the hanging ribbon goes on and the nutcracker is ready for the tree.

Adult supervision is recommended while crafting, and the set is not intended for toddlers. Wash any paint off surfaces straight away so that no staining or damage occurs.

The finished figure stands 18.5 cm tall, 11 cm wide and 3.5 cm deep, noticeably larger than an ordinary bauble. It hangs from the ribbon supplied and stands out among the rest of the decorations.

The materials used are wood, paper, nylon, polyester, PVC and plastic (PS/PE), plus the paint supplied. The set is made in China, carries the CE/UKCA marking and meets EN 71.

Put down newspaper or a wipeable cloth before you start and keep a glass of water handy for rinsing the brush. Plan in drying breaks, because the paint has to be completely dry before the stickers and the fur go on. And remember to have glue ready so that the beard and hair stay in place.

As a present the set works in two ways: unopened as a crafting idea for Advent, or painted and finished as a decoration you made yourself. For a crafting afternoon with several children, one set per child works best.
