Minecraft Stationery Advent Calendar

The manufacturer lists the following items for the 27 stationery gifts, from writing and marking tools to material for decorating exercise books and cards.

• Advent calendar with 24 doors
• 27 stationery gifts in total
• Notebook, notepad and sticky notes
• Pens, pencils and erasers
• Paper clips and a ruler
• Stamps and washi tapes
• Gadget decals and foil stickers
• Magnetic bookmarks and a magnet
• Design in the style of the Minecraft video game
• Officially licensed Minecraft product

The pieces work together. The notebook and notepad take homework, ideas and lists, the sticky notes mark pages, and the washi tapes and foil stickers decorate exercise books, folders and cards. Paper clips, ruler and erasers are the basics every desk needs anyway.

The magnetic bookmarks clip around a page, and the magnet finds a spot on the fridge or on a magnetic board. With the stamps and the gadget decals, Minecraft motifs end up on letters, a pencil case or a notebook cover. Step by step the contents turn into one matching set.

The calendar is aimed at Minecraft fans, at children of school age and at gamers who like a themed desk. Parents, godparents and relatives get a present that is handed over before 1 December and then keeps giving for 24 days.

Anyone who enjoys decorating notebooks and planners with washi tapes and stickers will also get plenty out of the 27 items, well beyond advent.

Put the calendar in a fixed spot at the end of November, for example on the desk or a sideboard. Opening a door then becomes part of the morning routine and nobody has to hunt for it. Collect the opened gifts straight away in a box or in the pencil case so the small pieces stay together.

Washi tapes, stamps and foil stickers are handy for homemade Christmas cards and gift tags halfway through advent. The calendar also works as a present for a first advent visit, because it accompanies the whole run-up to Christmas. After 24 December the notebook, pens and bookmarks simply move into the school bag and carry on being used.
