The Grow2Go Bonsai Starter Kit is a compact growing set for raising your own bonsai from seed. Inside the mug-shaped mini greenhouse with its removable lid, a warm and humid microclimate builds up that gives the seeds a good start. The set holds Australian pine seeds with a high germination rate, a large coconut soil tablet and instructions, and it is made in Germany.
The first days and weeks of a plant are sensitive: climate, ventilation and humidity need to be right. That is what the small mug with its lid takes care of. The kit fits on any windowsill, needs no prior experience and gives plant lovers of any age something to watch over several weeks.
Everything arrives in one box that can be handed over as it is. All the work happens in a single vessel: soak the soil, place the seeds, close the lid.

Soak the seeds in lukewarm water for a few hours before sowing so the seed coat opens. Then let the coconut soil tablet expand in water until it reaches 450 ml and has absorbed the liquid.
Place the seeds on the moist growing soil without pressing them in too deep. Close the lid and set the greenhouse in a bright, warm spot at 20 to 25 °C, away from direct midday sun. Later you can pierce holes in the base, and the inner shell then doubles as a saucer.
Bright, but not in blazing sun: a windowsill at 20 to 25 °C works well. Avoid direct midday sun, otherwise it gets too hot under the lid.
Once the first seedlings show, air the lid briefly now and again to keep mould at bay. The mini greenhouse stays the right home until the little tree is around 5 to 10 cm tall. During germination keep the substrate evenly moist but not soaked; later water less often and more thoroughly.
With an even, warm and humid climate, count on two to three weeks until the first seedlings. The e-book is best read before you sow, so you know the care steps before the first green appears. Patience is part of bonsai: open the lid only briefly so the humidity stays in the mug.
As a present the set comes in a box measuring 11 × 11 × 13 cm. It suits men, women and children and many occasions, from a birthday to Christmas or a housewarming.
How long does germination take? With an evenly warm and humid climate around 20 to 25 °C, the first seedlings can appear after two to three weeks.
