This chopstick rest set of 2 consists of two small porcelain figures shaped like a dachshund. The two brown dogs are meant as a decorative element for the place setting, giving your chopsticks a proper spot beside the plate between bites. They are small, yet the long dachshund silhouette is recognisable at a glance.
The set suits dachshund fans, lovers of Asian food and anyone who enjoys laying the table with care. Two rests cover two place settings, exactly the crowd that shares a few sushi rolls in the evening. As a dachshund gift it also works on its own: small, concrete and needing no explanation. If you already know the idea of a chopstick rest, this is the dog-shaped version.
You get two chopstick rests in dachshund form, and nothing else. Chopsticks themselves are not included. If you are giving the set as a present, it is worth adding a pair of chopsticks of your own.
- 2 chopstick rests in dachshund shape
- Material: 100 % porcelain
- Food safe
- Colour: brown
- Dimensions: 2 x 2 x 9 cm (L x W x H)
- Chopsticks not included
The material is 100 % porcelain, and the set is food safe. Porcelain is a fired, smooth material that holds finer shapes cleanly, here the long curve of the back and the short legs of the dachshund.
Each rest measures 2 x 2 x 9 cm (L x W x H). That is roughly the length of an index finger and narrow enough that the two dogs stay out of the way next to a plate, a bowl and a little dish of soy sauce. The brown colour sits well with pale tableware and with a wooden table, and stays calmer than a bright pattern.
Anyone who has a dachshund, or used to have one, spots the shape immediately, which makes the set an obvious little present for dog people. It works just as well for anyone who likes cooking and eating Asian food and puts their place setting together on purpose.
As a gift it fits a sushi evening with friends, a birthday, a Secret Santa exchange or simply a small something when you would rather not arrive empty handed. Because it comes as two pieces, you can also split it up or pair it with a second small present.
Put one rest beside each plate and the set covers two settings exactly. Chopstick rests in general exist so that chopsticks do not end up straight on the tablecloth during a meal. Outside mealtimes the two dachshunds also look good on a sideboard or on a kitchen shelf.
For gifting, the neatest combination is the set plus a pair of chopsticks, which rounds off the idea. For a Secret Santa a small box with a little tissue paper is enough, as the slim shape takes up hardly any room. On a laid table the two dogs are also a detail guests notice before the food arrives.
Are chopsticks included in the set? No. You receive the two dachshund-shaped rests only, so you bring the chopsticks yourself.
How many rests do I get? Two of them, which covers two place settings.
How big is one rest? It measures 2 x 2 x 9 cm (L x W x H), roughly the length of an index finger.
What material is the set made of? 100 % porcelain, and food safe as well.
Does the set work as a gift? Yes. It suits a sushi evening, a birthday, a Secret Santa or a small present for dachshund fans.
