This DIY soap making kit is a complete craft set for pouring your own soaps, from the white glycerin soap base through colours and fragrance oils to the silicone mould. It suits children and adults and works just as well on your own as it does with company at the kitchen table. Everything you need to begin is in the box, including detailed instructions.
The base is white glycerin soap without SLS. It helps maintain the skin's natural moisture without drying it out and is gentle enough for sensitive skin. The quantity supplied makes up to 15 soaps, which is enough for several crafting afternoons or a whole batch of handmade presents.
The kit arrives in a box measuring 30 x 20 x 8 cm and weighs 2 kg. It is made in Poland.

The glycerin base is melted in the pot over a water bath. The probe thermometer shows you how warm the mixture is, so you do not miss the right moment to add colour and fragrance. The bar spoon lets you stir in dye and oil until the mixture looks even.
Then you pour the liquid soap into the silicone mould and its six cavities. Petals, orange peel or coffee beans either go into the mould first or are placed on the surface at the end. Once the soaps have set, they push out of the flexible mould. The instructions take you through each step in order.
The kit is made for children and for adults. For a crafting afternoon shared between two people, for birthdays or as a present for anyone who likes working with their hands, it is a sound choice.
Because the base stretches to up to 15 soaps, there is plenty of material left after the first attempts. The finished bars make small personal gifts, especially when you match colour and scent to the person receiving them.
Lay everything out before you start melting: mould, dyes, fragrance oils and botanicals should be within reach once the base is liquid. Keep the detailed instructions open beside you so you can follow the steps in order.
Begin with a small amount of dye and build it up until the shade is right, which gives you everything from soft to deep tones out of the six colours. The same goes for scent: coconut, apple, secret garden and lavender can also be blended if you want a note of your own. If you plan to give soaps away, pour all six at once and group them into a little set. The botanicals add contrast too: coffee beans with a dark bar, rose petals with a pale one.
