The DIY Forest Animals advent calendar brings fox, deer, bear, hedgehog and squirrel to your wall: 24 brown paper bags, three sheets of forest animal stickers and natural wooden pegs. Every bag gets its own animal and its own number – and the result is a calendar that exists exactly once.
Neither scissors nor glue are needed. Peel the sticker off, press it onto the bag, done. Lined up on a shelf, pegged to a string or arranged in a basket, the calendar suits almost any interior because the kraft paper stays quiet and the animals bring the colour.

The easiest way is to lay out all 24 bags first and spread the fillings across them – that way you spot the gaps immediately. Then add the animals and the numbers. Finally fold the top of each bag over and attach a wooden peg.
The bags have a folded base and stand on their own. If you prefer them hanging, run a string across the room and clip them up with the same pegs – the calendar then doubles as Christmas decoration.
- Place the animal in the middle of the bag and the number beside it, otherwise the number covers the face.
- Distribute the numbers deliberately out of order – the daily hunt is part of the ritual.
- Flat fillings such as vouchers, stickers or tea bags keep the bags slim if you intend to hang them.
- The wooden pegs stay useful after advent, for instance to hang photos on a line.
Does the calendar come filled?
No, the bags arrive empty. You decide what goes in each day.
Do I need scissors or glue?
No. The stickers are peeled off and pressed straight onto the bags.
How big are the bags?
19 x 8 x 6.5 cm with a standing base – enough for chocolate, small figures, jewellery or rolled-up vouchers.
