Water Garden Grow Kit

Every component comes together in one pack, instructions included. Apart from water, you need nothing that is not already there, and the pebbles are there purely as decoration on top of the ceramsite layer.

• Glass fishbowl, approx. 14 × 14 × 11 cm
• Aquatic garden seeds
• Ceramsite as substrate
• Decorative pebbles
• Instructions
• No electricity and no filter needed
• Weight of the set: approx. 0.5 kg
• Made in China

First you fill the bowl with ceramsite, then you scatter the seeds across it and add water. The pebbles go in as decoration. Within a few days a lush green underwater garden grows out of it.

There is nothing more to do. With no electricity and no filter involved, there is no pump noise and no socket to find. The bowl can stand wherever you actually want to look at it, for instance next to a laptop and keyboard.

The glass bowl measures approx. 14 × 14 × 11 cm. That is roughly the footprint of a coffee cup and saucer, small enough for the corner of a desk, a shelf or a windowsill.

The whole set weighs around 0.5 kg, with the water added when you set it up, so pick a place where the bowl can stay put.

The set is for people who want a calm green corner at home or at work and who enjoy watching something grow.

As a gift it fits a housewarming, a birthday or a new job, and it works for anyone who would rather receive something living than another object. Being shortlisted for the Gift of the Year Award in 2022 speaks for the idea.

Keep to the order when you set it up: ceramsite, then seeds, then water. Take those few minutes somewhere where a stray grain or two does not matter.

Give the bowl a spot you pass often, such as a desk, a windowsill or a coffee table. If you are giving the kit away, leave everything in the pack: the person receiving it only needs water to begin. Start with a little patience, since the green appears within a few days rather than straight away.

What is included in the kit? A glass fishbowl, aquatic garden seeds, ceramsite as substrate, decorative pebbles and a set of instructions.

Do I need electricity or a filter? No. The water garden works without electricity and without a filter, so no socket nearby is required.

How big is the glass bowl? It measures approx. 14 × 14 × 11 cm, so it fits on a desk next to a laptop and keyboard.

How long does it take for something to grow? Once ceramsite, seeds and water are in the bowl, a lush green underwater garden grows within a few days.

Is the kit a good gift? Yes. It arrives complete with instructions and was shortlisted for the Gift of the Year Award in 2022.
