This ceramic salt and pepper shaker set turns the dining table into a tiny cafe. Two shakers shaped like mugs with faces stand under a pastel stand built like a little cafe counter: one cream latte mug and one green matcha mug, both with blushing cheeks and playful expressions. Above them sits a striped awning in pink and cream, along with a sign reading Kawaii Kafe in Japanese characters. The result is less a pair of condiment shakers than a small scene that still looks good when nobody is at the table.
The set is made for fans of Japanese pop culture and the kawaii look, for coffee and matcha drinkers and for anyone who likes pastel shades in the kitchen. It measures 12 x 11 x 7 cm and weighs around 280 g, so it stays compact on the table. It is part of the Kawaii Kafe collection by Something Different in the UK.
You get both shakers and the stand that holds them side by side, so the little cafe scene is complete straight away with nothing else to buy.
- 2 ceramic shakers shaped like mugs: latte in cream, matcha in green
- 1 cafe-style stand with a striped awning in pink and cream
- Sign reading Kawaii Kafe with Japanese characters
- Faces with blushing cheeks and playful expressions
- Underside of the mugs with a filling hole and stopper
- Dimensions: 12 x 11 x 7 cm
- Weight: approx. 280 g

The colours stay firmly in pastel territory: cream for the latte mug, a soft green for the matcha, pink and cream for the stripes of the awning. The faces stay simple, which keeps them friendly rather than busy.
The stand is what frames the set. Instead of two single shakers scattered between glasses and plates, they sit together under the awning like drinks at a small coffee stall. On an open kitchen shelf or beside the coffee machine the set works just as well as decoration as it does on a laid table.
The set lands well with fans of Japanese pop culture and the kawaii style, with coffee and matcha lovers and with anyone furnishing a kitchen in pastel. As a gift it fits a birthday, a housewarming, a place under the Christmas tree or a Secret Santa round at the office, where funny shakers hold their own among the usual small presents.
Put the set where it will be seen: the middle of the table, a breakfast board or the coffee corner. Ceramic is breakable, so a spot slightly away from the table edge and out of reach of small children is worth choosing.
For gifting you can pair the set with ground coffee or matcha powder, which turns it into a small cafe bundle. If the recipient already owns something from the Kawaii Kafe collection, the pieces look good lined up together.
What is included in the set? Two ceramic shakers shaped like mugs and one cafe-style stand with a striped awning.
How big is the set? It measures 12 x 11 x 7 cm, so it takes up about as much room as a small cup and saucer.
What material are the shakers made of? Ceramic. Mugs and stand are in pastel shades, and the faces show blushing cheeks and playful expressions.
Who is this set a good gift for? For fans of Japanese pop culture and the kawaii look, for coffee and matcha lovers and for anyone fond of pastel colours.
Does it match other kawaii items? Yes, it belongs to the Kawaii Kafe collection and can be combined with other pieces from that range.
