The Horror Vending Machine from Scrunchems is a surprise machine for fans of all things gross: a cardboard vending machine with a window, behind which ten colourful capsules wait. Each capsule holds a gooey, creepy or just plain disgusting toy – wriggly worms, an eyeball, a brain, a skeleton and more. Turn the knob, take the capsule, twist it open: you only know what is inside once it is in your hand.
The front looks like a real gumball machine in Halloween style: black housing, purple bolts, eyeballs instead of trim and a large window through which the ten capsules in pink, purple, turquoise and yellow can be seen. Below the window sit a keypad marked "Insert Coin", an orange knob marked "Turn to Release" and the dispensing flap "Collect Prize Here". Turn the knob and a capsule drops into the flap. The machine is made of cardboard – no coins and no batteries needed. Take the capsule, twist it open, and the next surprise is there.
The contents are spread out on the product pictures: an orange skeleton, a bunch of red wriggly worms, an eyeball, a red brain, a heart, a white skull, vampire fangs, balls with bugs and red splatters, and slime in green and red. Everything is soft, stretchy, sticky or gooey – made for squeezing, pulling and holding under other people's noses. Ten capsules, ten pieces to collect. The capsules can be put back together after opening – so the gooey pieces have a home even after unpacking. Once the collection is complete, the skeleton, skull and eyeball go on the windowsill as Halloween decoration or get hidden in a sibling's room for a scare.
For children from three years who love everything slimy, creepy and a little bit disgusting. For Halloween as an alternative to the bag of sweets, as a party favour for a spooky party or as a gift that causes shrieks when unwrapped. For Scrunchems collectors who get ten new pieces with one purchase. And for parents looking for a present that keeps children busy beyond the first moment: ten capsules mean ten surprises – spread over an afternoon or as a countdown over several days. It also works as a Secret Santa gift at the office: whoever draws it is guaranteed a laugh.
The machine is 26 centimetres wide, 32 centimetres tall and 8 centimetres deep and weighs a good 600 grams. The box is packaging and toy at the same time – after unpacking it stays standing as a vending machine. The packaging is also labelled in German and French: Überraschungstüte and Distributeur Automatique.
- Do not open all the capsules at once – one a day turns the machine into a spooky countdown to Halloween
- Put slime and gooey pieces back in their capsule after playing to keep them clean
- Handle liquid-filled pieces with care: do not overstretch, pierce or bite them
- Hand the capsules out at a Halloween party – ten guests, ten surprises
Features:
- Cardboard surprise vending machine with window, knob and dispensing flap
- 10 capsules, each with one gross toy: skeleton, wriggly worms, eyeball, brain, heart, skull, vampire fangs, gross balls, slime
- Size approx. 26 × 32 × 8 cm, weight approx. 630 g
- No coins, no batteries needed
- Age 3+ – warning, small parts
Do you know in advance what is in the capsules? No. The capsules are coloured and the contents can at most be guessed – the surprise is part of the fun.
Does the machine need coins or batteries? No, neither coins nor batteries.
Is there real slime? Yes, green and red slime are among the surprises – as shown in the pictures.
What age is it for? From 3 years. The machine contains small parts and is not for toddlers.
Is it a good Halloween gift? Yes – eyeball, worms and skull fit the spooky season, and the ten capsules can also be handed out at a party.
