The Harry Potter Birthday Set for Pets is a four-piece mini costume with a toy and a greeting card, made for the birthday of a dog or a cat. The box holds a miniature Sorting Hat, a Gryffindor tie on a collar, a plush slice of cake and a card with a cut-out photo frame. It is built for exactly those five minutes when everyone reaches for their phone.
The set suits small to medium dogs and cats that will put up with it. It also works as a present for dog people who are Harry Potter fans themselves. This is officially licensed merchandise, made in Spain, and it arrives in a gift box with a window.
Four pieces make a small Hogwarts outfit, with a toy and a keepsake alongside. The whole set weighs 0.2 kg.
- Sorting Hat in miniature format in brown fabric, with an elastic chin strap
- Gryffindor tie in red and gold with the crest, on a red collar with a click buckle
- Plush slice of cake in pink and brown with «Happee Birthdae Harry» stitched on
- Greeting card in the «Yer a wizard, Harry» design with a photo frame cut-out
- Collar adjustable in length, hat with an elastic band
- Officially licensed Harry Potter product, made in Spain
- Dimensions according to the retailer: 15.0 x 11.0 x 27.0 cm
- Weight: 0.2 kg
- Packaging: gift box with a window
The hat is a scaled-down version of the original from Hogwarts: brown fabric, painted creases, tapering to a point. It is held by a thin elastic band that sits under the chin or behind the ears. Experience says it works better on dogs with floppy ears than on pricked ones, where the hat likes to slip sideways.
The tie is fixed to a red band with a click buckle and adjusts in length. It does not replace the everyday collar: tag, address disc and lead stay where they are. For the party the tie simply comes on top and goes off again afterwards.
The plush cake recreates the one Hagrid brings Harry for his birthday, misspelling included. It is soft, light and made to be carried around and shaken. Like any fabric toy it does not stand up to a determined set of teeth forever.
The front of the card carries what is probably the most quoted line of the series, and inside a cut-out can be released to hold a photo. Print the birthday picture straight away and you end the day with a finished keepsake. The card can then be stood up or given away.
Only leave the hat and tie on under supervision and take them off once the photos are done. Adjust the collar so that two fingers fit underneath, no tighter. Have a treat ready the first time you put the hat on, so it stays a positive experience.
Collect the plush piece after playtime, otherwise it turns into a chew toy. Hand wash the fabric parts and let them dry flat.
How many pieces does the set contain? Four: the Sorting Hat, the tie with collar, the plush cake slice and the greeting card.
Does it fit a large dog? The set is intended for small and medium animals. On very large breeds the hat becomes too small.
Does the tie replace the everyday collar? No, it is an accessory for the occasion and goes on in addition to the usual collar.
Is the cake slice a chew toy? It is a soft plush toy for supervised play, not a long-term chew.
Can I use the set for a cat? Yes, if the cat goes along with it. On cats the hat usually stays on only briefly.
