Grey Gift Wrap with Branches and Berries

The pattern stays deliberately fine. Branches and leaves in olive green run across the dark grey-green ground, and between them sit small berries in pink and white that stand out as the brightest points. The result is wrapping that looks wintry without relying on red, gold or Father Christmas motifs.

The colour is simply grey, and that is how the roll comes across on the shelf: muted, fairly dark, with a slightly greenish cast. Only once you have it in your hands do the pink and white berries become the real subject of the design.

One roll gives you 10 running metres at a width of 70 cm. LWC describes a lightly coated paper, and here the grammage is 70 g/m². The paper used is FSC-certified. The roll is wound without a cardboard core and has an inner diameter of 34 mm, with a total weight of 480 g.

The paper is made for everyone who likes discreet, elegant Christmas wrapping and reaches for muted colours rather than classic red. It works for Christmas presents, for small gestures during Advent and generally for those days when a lot of wrapping gets done at the kitchen table.

Because the motif stays botanical and shows no obvious Christmas symbols, the roll can carry on being used after the festive days, for winter birthday presents for instance, or for the little parcels of an Advent calendar you fill yourself. As a small something for someone who enjoys wrapping their own gifts, a roll is a calm and genuinely useful idea.

Measure the parcel before you cut: the circumference plus a little extra for the overlap, and at the sides half the height of the box. That way you take only as much off the 10 running metres as you really need.

The ribbon decides how the paper finally looks. Natural tones and plain twine keep things restrained, a pink ribbon picks up the colour of the berries and an olive green one echoes the branches and leaves.
