This DIY gift tag set is a sorted craft box for parcels that should look festive without shop-bought bows. Inside are 12 wooden tags, 12 natural wooden clips with a metal spring, 12 red metal bells and a roll of red and white cord on a wooden spool. The cardboard compartment box has a clear lid, so you can see what is left at a glance.
It suits anyone who wraps gifts by hand, and crafters who work with scrapbooking or hand lettering. Wood, cord and red bells sit well on plain kraft paper and on single-colour wrapping paper. The top tag in the box is red with the white wording Joy to the world. The set is made in China.
The four components sit in their own compartments, twelve pieces of each kind plus one roll of cord. That dresses twelve parcels completely, or spreads across many smaller gifts.
- 12 wooden clips, 7.5 x 1 cm, natural colour with a metal spring
- 12 metal bells in red, 2 cm in diameter
- 12 wooden tags, 6.5 x 4.8 cm
- 1 roll of red and white cord, 6.5 m, on a wooden spool
- Cardboard compartment box with clear lid: 14.5 cm high, 11.5 cm wide, 5.5 cm deep
- Weight of the complete set: 280 g
- Made in China
Cut a length of cord, wrap it around the parcel and tie it at the top. The tag goes onto the knot, a bell beside it, and the clip holds tag and cord together or pinches a fold of paper in place. With 6.5 m of cord you get a long way on small parcels and less far on large boxes.
At 6.5 x 4.8 cm the tags leave room for a name, a date or a short message. Without cord, the clips go straight onto the folded edge of a paper bag: they keep it closed and carry the tag at the same time.
Twelve tags, twelve clips and twelve bells make a calendar for the twelve days before Christmas. Number the tags, fill small bags or parcels and hang them from a stretched piece of cord with the clips. For 24 doors, combine the set with your own material and keep the tags and bells for the second half.
Write on the tags before you tie them to the parcels - flat on the table they are easier to letter than on a finished box. When several gifts go to the same person, use one element per parcel: a bell on the smallest, a clip on the flat one, the tag on the largest.
With the clips you can also hang photos or Christmas cards along a piece of cord as a line for the wall, and threaded onto the cord the bells make a small garland for a door handle. After the season put everything back into the compartments and close the clear lid, so next December you see immediately what is still there.
What is included in the set? 12 wooden clips, 12 bells, 12 wooden tags and one roll of cord measuring 6.5 m, sorted into a compartment box with a clear lid.
How big are the wooden tags? Each tag measures 6.5 x 4.8 cm, which leaves room for a name and a short message.
How many gifts does the set cover? Twelve parcels with tag, clip and bell each. If you use the parts separately, it stretches further.
How long is the cord? The roll holds 6.5 m of red and white cord on a wooden spool.
Does the set work as a gift for crafters? Yes, the box weighs 280 g and measures 14.5 x 11.5 x 5.5 cm, an easy present during advent.
