The petrol advent calendar bags turn the countdown to Christmas into a personal gift: 24 printed paper bags in warm brown and deep petrol, together with golden number stickers and ochre wooden pegs. What goes inside is entirely up to you – sweets, small toys, vouchers or a short note for every day.
Measuring 14 x 22 cm, the bags can be pegged to a string, lined up on a shelf or dropped into a basket. The illustrations – fir trees, parcels, stars, gingerbread and fine dot patterns – are deliberately understated and fit a home where Christmas is not meant to be loud. Since nothing has to be cut or glued, the finished calendar is ready in well under an hour.
- 24 printed paper bags (14 x 22 cm) in brown and petrol
- 24 golden number stickers from 1 to 24
- 24 ochre wooden pegs (45 mm)
- Ready to use – no scissors, no glue
- Fill it yourself, for children and adults alike
- Calm design in petrol, brown and gold
Lay out all 24 bags first and spread the fillings across them – that way you spot the gaps immediately. Next, apply the golden numbers. They stick reliably to the kraft paper and can be positioned loosely first until the arrangement feels right. Finally fold over the top of each bag and add a wooden peg.
Whether the calendar then hangs on a string across the room, sits in a basket beside the sofa or lines up along a sideboard: the bags have a folded base and stand on their own, so each day's surprise lifts out easily.
- Peg the bags onto a string – the calendar doubles as living room decoration.
- Distribute the numbers deliberately out of order. Hunting for the right one becomes part of the daily ritual.
- Flat fillings such as vouchers, stickers, photos or tea bags keep the bags in shape and hanging slim on the line.
- Fold the top edge twice before adding the peg – the closure then holds even heavier contents.
- Mix small objects with experiences: a voucher for an afternoon of sledging weighs nothing and is remembered far longer than chocolate.
Does the calendar come filled?
No, the bags arrive empty. That is precisely the point: you fill them with what the recipient genuinely likes.
How big are the bags?
Each bag measures 14 x 22 cm – room for chocolate, small figures, jewellery, vouchers or rolled-up notes.
Do I need scissors, glue or tools?
No. Bags, numbers and pegs are ready to go; you only apply the number stickers.
Can the bags be reused?
The wooden pegs and most bags survive the season easily and can be used again next year. The number stickers are intended for single use.
Who is this calendar for?
For anyone who prefers filling a calendar themselves rather than buying a ready-made one – for children, adults, couples or the office team.
