The Tulip One-Step Tie-Dye Kit Rainbow from America's favourite tie-dye brand brings the classic home: 5 squeeze bottles in vibrant rainbow shades — yellow, red, violet, blue and green. Thanks to the One-Step formula there is no presoaking in soda ash — just add water, shake and start dyeing.
What's included (59 pieces):
- 5 squeeze bottles with One-Step dye (45.8 g of dye in total)
- Protective gloves
- 40 rubber bands for spirals, stripes and circles
- Guide with techniques and project ideas
Enough for up to 30 projects — from t-shirts and socks to pillowcases. Perfect for birthday parties, school camps and creative family afternoons.
How it works
- Prewash fabric (no fabric softener) and work damp
- Fill the bottle with water and shake well
- Tie the fabric and apply the colours
- Let set for 6–8 hours, rinse, done
Popular tie-dye techniques
- Spiral: the classic — twist the fabric from the centre and apply colours in wedges.
- Crumple: scrunch it up, add rubber bands, go — perfect for beginners.
- Bullseye: concentric circles for a hypnotic look.
- Stripes: fold the fabric and apply the colours in bands.
Tips and tricks for perfect results
- Prewashing is a must: wash without softener — finishing agents block the dye.
- Work damp: slightly damp fabric absorbs the dye more evenly.
- Less is more: colours look darker when wet and lighten after washing.
- Setting time: at least 6–8 hours, ideally overnight.
- Rinsing: rinse with cold water until clear, wash separately the first time.
- Wear gloves: always! The dye is hard to remove from skin.
Suitable fabrics
Best results on natural fibres like 100% cotton, rayon and silk. Polyester won't take the dye. Once set, the colours are permanently machine washable.
