Cat Watering Can by Kikkerland — this little porcelain cat sits on your windowsill and does two jobs at once: a practical mini watering can for herbs, succulents and small houseplants — and a piece of character décor.
At just 4.5 cm deep, the cat is unusually slim and fits where a classic can can't — between the basil pot and the window pane, between the row of succulents and the kitchen curtain. White glazed porcelain makes it a calm companion in any interior.
Designed by the Dutch studio Koens & Middelkoop. The two designers like to rethink everyday objects — functional, with a wink, and always with an eye for form. The result: an object you happily leave on display instead of hiding in a cupboard.
How to fill
- Turn on the tap or grab a small carafe
- Tilt the cat gently forward so the opening on its back is exposed
- Fill with water up to 2 cm below the rim
- Straighten up — ready to water
Tips
- Controlled pouring: the narrow paw spout releases water in a measured stream — ideal for delicate succulents and cacti that don't like much moisture
- Cleaning: rinse inside with warm water and a drop of washing-up liquid; for limescale, add a splash of vinegar
- Storage: don't empty it completely — a few drops of water inside keep the porcelain balanced
- Gift idea: pair with a mini succulent or a herb seedling as a compact gift combo

We recommend handwashing to keep the glaze looking fresh for years.
Does the paw spout drip?
Not with a controlled, gentle tilt. Pouring abruptly may cause a small drip — just wipe it off.
