Maneki Neko Mini Solar Waving Lucky Cat
This product will be released on 1 November 2026
The Maneki Neko mini waving cat is a small ornament with a solar drive: when light reaches the small solar panel, the cat raises and lowers its paw. At 5 cm tall it fits on a windowsill, on your desk beside the screen or on a shelf between books.
The lucky cat with the waving paw is one of Japan's best known good-luck charms and is a familiar sight in shops, restaurants and entrances. This mini version brings the motif down to desk size: put it where the light falls and that is all it needs. As a small something for a shop opening, a housewarming or a birthday it explains itself in seconds and takes up almost no room.
The figure has a small solar panel. When light reaches it, the paw starts to move and waves. There is nothing to switch on, so the spot you choose does the work: on a bright windowsill the paw keeps moving, in a dark corner or at night the figure rests.
The cat is made of plastic (ABS) and metal (magnet/copper). It is manufactured in China and carries CE and UKCA marking.
The figure measures 5 cm high, 4 cm wide and 3.5 cm deep, so it sits comfortably in the palm of your hand. It is delivered in a clear box of 6.5 × 6 × 5.5 cm, which lets you see the cat from the outside.

The Maneki Neko comes in gold, black and white. The colour cannot be chosen and is supplied at random, so you will receive one of the three versions. Worth knowing if you had a particular colour in mind as a present.
It suits anyone who likes Japanese good-luck charms and makes an understated gift for the office. For a shop opening, a move into a new flat, a birthday or simply as a lucky charm along the way, it stays modest in scale and slips into any bag. It is not a toy, which is why it is not meant for small children.
Place the cat where light falls during the day, for example on the windowsill or at the edge of your desk next to the lamp. Leave the solar panel uncovered: a sheet of paper or a postcard lying over it will stop the paw.
For gifting you can leave the clear box exactly as it is and simply tie a ribbon around it. If you are giving several cats, the random colours take care of the variety for you. In an office it works well next to the monitor, at home on the kitchen windowsill.
