This Irish seaweed care set is a wellness gift set for adults who like natural skincare and a bit of spa time at home. The hinged gift box holds three products made in Bantry, County Cork: a seaweed facial oil in an amber glass dropper bottle, a bar of handmade seaweed soap and an amber glass apothecary bottle with a cork, filled with bath salts. Behind the set stands the seaweed tradition of the women of West Cork, who have been harvesting kelp and dulse for generations. The facial oil combines seaweed extract (Laminaria digitata) with sweet almond oil and jojoba oil, plus essential oils of bergamot and lavender. The soap is handmade, vegan and scented with essential oils of cedarwood and lemongrass. The bath salts are Epsom salt with seaweed and essential oils of sweet orange and rosemary, a blend named Sweet Orange & Rosemary.

The facial oil is made for morning and evening and is patted into the face. In the morning it goes on after cleansing and toner and before make-up, with a minute to sink in; in the evening it is the last step of your routine. The soap is used like any bar of soap at the basin or in the shower. For a bath, dissolve half a cup of the salts in water at 37 to 39 °C and relax for 20 minutes.
One note: the facial oil contains sweet almond oil. If you react to nuts, read the ingredient list before the first application.

WASI Seaweed comes from Bantry in County Cork on the south-west coast of Ireland. Founder Claire O'Sullivan carries on an old family tradition: for generations, the women of West Cork have harvested seaweed by hand along the shore. The seaweed is turned into soaps, oils and bath salts based on traditional Irish remedies – handmade in Ireland.
