Each of the five blends has its own shape, and two bags of every blend are included. So you can work your way through the whole selection and still have a second cup of your favourite.

The bags are sewn by hand according to the manufacturer, and every blend wears its own winter silhouette: deer, penguin, mitten, fir tree and snowman. You recognise each blend by its outline without reading a label. The box is made in France, and the illustrations come exclusively from Sonia Innocenti.

According to the manufacturer, the Thé de Noël contains black tea from Ceylon, rose petals, Bourbon vanilla, cinnamon, orange peel, apple, almond and clove. The Earl Grey combines Assam black tea with bergamot extract, and the Breakfast is an English Breakfast black tea. The Rooibos des Reines holds rooibos Supergrade, ground cocoa beans, hazelnut butter, caramel and freeze-dried yoghurt granules made from semi-skimmed yoghurt and sugar. The Crème de Pistache contains rooibos Supergrade, dried coconut, sugar stars, roasted pistachios, almonds and bitter almond drops.

From these ingredients come the following allergens: almond in the Thé de Noël and in the Crème de Pistache, plus pistachio and coconut in the Crème de Pistache, and milk or yoghurt and hazelnut in the Rooibos des Reines. According to the manufacturer the box is neither vegan nor gluten-free.

The box is small enough to slip into a Secret Santa sack or sit beside a plate, and thanks to the illustrations it needs hardly any extra wrapping paper.

If you would rather avoid caffeine in the evening, reach for the Rooibos des Reines, which is caffeine-free according to the manufacturer. The strong Breakfast suits the morning better.
