Brewing with an audience

Fill the fish with loose leaf tea, lower it into the cup and hook the angler over the rim. He acts as the counterweight while the fish brews — and supplies the little story you read while you wait. Once it has steeped, you lift the fish out by the rod without getting your fingers wet.

Frequently asked questions

Is the angler silicone too? The figure is the holder that sits on the rim and stays out of the water. Only the fish goes in.

Does it fit every cup? Normal cups and mugs, yes. In very narrow or very shallow vessels the fish has too little depth to work well.

How do I clean it? Empty it, rinse under warm water and let it dry open. Winkee gives no guidance on machine cleaning, so cleaning by hand is the safe option.

Will the silicone stain? With dark varieties such as black tea, the orange fish may darken over time. That is normal and does not affect how it works.

Does it work for herbal tea? Yes. Coarse herbs and fruit pieces work well, while very fine teas such as rooibos escape through the openings more easily.
