The Axolotl LED lamp is a small light shaped like the popular little water dragon and part of the Rainy Days collection. The axolotl sits on a base with a single button: one press and the figure glows in changing RGB colours. The lamp is made in Italy. At 270 g it stays light enough to move between bedside table, desk and windowsill.
It is meant for teenagers who like to arrange their own room and set their own light. The brightness can be adjusted, from a vivid colour for the evening to a dimmed glow before falling asleep. A rechargeable battery is built in, so the lamp shines without a cable and without a socket nearby, handy in a reading corner or on a shelf with no power point.
Everything you need to start is included. Only a USB power adapter is not part of it: for charging you can use a standard adapter or the USB port on a computer.
- Axolotl LED lamp with base
- USB-C charging cable
- Instruction booklet
- RGB light with four colours plus a calm steady light
- Adjustable brightness
- Operated by one button on the base
- Built-in battery for cordless use
- Measurements: 25 x 12 x 12 cm
- Weight: 270 g
- Made in Italy
Before first use, charge the lamp fully with the supplied USB-C cable. Then put it where you want it, for example on a bedside table, a desk, a shelf or the windowsill.
The button on the base switches it on and cycles through the colours and light modes. For a calm night light choose a dimmed setting, for decoration or playing a vivid colour. The lamp is easy for teenagers to use, and an instruction booklet is part of the delivery.
It fits a teenager's room, a reading corner and any surface that could use some colour. If you like axolotls, you get a figure that does not just sit there but actually does something in the evening. Being compact, it takes up hardly any room on a busy desk.
As a present it works for a birthday, for Christmas or for moving into a first room of one's own. Because the light and the brightness are set by the user, the lamp supports independence and settled evening routines.
For the evening a dimmed colour works best, as it calms things down before bed. During a sleepover or a long reading session the changing colours set the mood. With the lamp on a bedside table the button on the base stays within reach, so you do not have to get up to switch it off.
Before longer breaks it pays to charge the battery fully once. Take off dust with a dry, soft cloth and wipe with a slightly damp cloth if needed. The lamp contains electronics and a battery, so keep it away from moisture and never submerge it in water.
Does the lamp shine without a cable? Yes. A battery is built in, so once charged you can place the lamp anywhere in the room.
How is it charged? With the supplied USB-C cable. A standard USB power adapter or a USB port on a computer is enough.
Can you set the colour? Yes, the button on the base switches between four RGB colours and a calm steady light. The brightness is adjustable too.
Is a power adapter included? No, the box holds the USB-C cable and an instruction booklet. An adapter can be used separately.
Who is the lamp for? It is meant for teenagers and looks at home in a bedroom, a reading corner or on a desk.
