This spice advent calendar comes in the shape of a lighthouse and is made for everyone who likes to experiment at the stove. Behind the 24 doors sit Ankerkraut spice blends: 12 in the iconic cork jar and 12 in a pouch. That adds up to 1201 g of spice, so the calendar keeps working long after 24 December.
The packaging is striped in black and white, printed with constellations and a sailing ship, and topped by a lantern with a roof. At around 75 cm tall according to Ankerkraut, it is the largest of the three Ankerkraut advent calendars and a real eye-catcher with northern German flair. As a gift for keen home cooks, grill fans and people who simply love good food, it does not go unnoticed in a December kitchen.
The 12 cork jars are filled to the brim and cover a wide range: Tomate Mozzarella rot 80 g, Hamburg Gunpowder 90 g, Glühwein 60 g, Curry-Dip 90 g, Steakpfeffer No. 1 85 g, Bratkartoffel 80 g, Gänse- und Entenbraten 75 g, Magic Dust Rub 100 g, Hamburger Hafencurry 60 g, Gulasch 80 g, Ofengemüse 90 g and Avocado Finisher 80 g. That is 970 g in glass.
The 12 pouches hold different blends from the jars, namely Raclette 25 g, Bolognese 20 g, Fisch & Scampi 15 g, Bombay Chicken 20 g, Gemüsebrühe 18 g, Roasted Garlic 15 g, Pilzpfanne 15 g, Paella 25 g, Rührei Mix 20 g, Weihnachtsquark 20 g, Rahmlachs 18 g and Brathähnchen 20 g, 231 g together.
The top piece with the lantern and roof is placed on the calendar when you set it up and fixed in place; Ankerkraut shows the assembly in a video. After that the tower stands and one door can be opened each day. A recipe booklet is included, with recipes that match the spices inside.
