The Anker Cube spice advent calendar packs 24 Ankerkraut spice blends into a cube-shaped box and turns December into a small journey through the spice rack. Behind every door sits a different blend: 22 come in sample pouches, two classics in a cork-topped jar. In total the calendar holds around 405 g of spice.
It is made for home cooks and curious food lovers who want to taste the run-up to Christmas rather than just count the days. From a warm hint of paprika to a sweet note of vanilla, every blend tells its own story: open, sniff, start cooking. Within the Ankerkraut range the Anker Cube is the middle of the three advent calendars, alongside Der Lütte and Leuchtturm. New for the 2026 season.
The 24 doors hold 22 spice blends in sample pouch size plus two blends in a cork-topped jar. The jars contain the mulled wine blend of cinnamon, orange peel, lemon peel, cloves and star anise, and the blend for roast goose and duck. Which blend waits behind which day stays a secret, the surprise is part of the calendar.
The selection runs from rubs and barbecue blends through classics for soups, roasts and vegetables to sweet notes for coffee and dessert.

One door a day: tear open the pouch, smell it and then decide what goes on the plate. The sample pouches are a portion for trying things out, so you get to know a blend each day without buying a whole jar first.
The mulled wine blend in its cork-topped jar suits an evening of hot drinks, while the roast goose and duck blend lands right in time for the festive meal.
The box is a cube covered in wide black and white diagonal stripes, with fine illustrations of a sailing ship and several compass roses, and the Ankerkraut seal on the lid. It therefore looks good left out on the kitchen table or a sideboard.
According to the ingredient information, many of the blends contain mustard (mustard flour) and/or celery (celeriac), and traces of mustard and celery are possible. Worth a thought if you are giving the calendar to someone else.
