The Ripe 'N' Ready Stress Banana is a stress ball shaped like a real banana: soft rubber, the familiar gentle curve and around 15 cm from end to end. It sits comfortably in one hand and is deeply satisfying to squeeze. Let go and it springs straight back to its original shape. It is made in China.
It is meant for anyone who spends the day at a desk and needs something to grip every now and then. Instead of clenching your jaw at the screen, you grab the banana and work it for a few seconds. A subtle fruity scent adds to the joke. As a small gift or secret santa filler it works just as well as it does living permanently next to your keyboard.
The soft rubber gives way the moment you press: squash the banana in your fist, roll it between your fingers or simply squeeze it rhythmically a few times. Every time you release it, it takes on its straight, slightly curved shape again rather than staying dented. You can do all of that one-handed while you read, take a call or wait for a reply.
At roughly 15 cm long, the stress banana sits nicely in one hand. Width and height are around 5 cm each. It weighs about 127 g, so you feel it in your palm without it being heavy. At that weight it travels in a jacket pocket too. In a drawer, a backpack or a laptop bag it takes up next to no room.

The banana is a desk gadget for people who sit in front of a screen for hours, spend a lot of time on the phone or revise for exams and want to keep their hands busy. Because it is so obviously silly, it doubles as a talking point in the office, certainly once somebody mistakes it for real fruit and reaches for it.
As a present it is small, affordable and self-explanatory: a token for the open-plan office, an advent calendar filler, a secret santa gift, an extra in a birthday parcel or a consolation prize after a hectic week. It is not intended for toddlers.
Put the banana where the stress happens: next to the keyboard, in the top drawer or in the side pocket of your laptop bag so you have it with you in meetings. When you work from home it sits beside the screen just as happily as it does at the office. If you like working with your hands, keep it beside the phone and squeeze while you listen.
A few gifting ideas: drop the banana into the fruit bowl in the office kitchen and see who grabs it first. Wrap it with real fruit or a coffee voucher as a small stress-relief parcel. Or hand it to someone heading into an intense project phase who needs something to squash at their desk.
