Lunar Telescope for Kids with Tripod

The set has seven parts that together make a complete small telescope. None of them has to be bought separately.

The finderscope sits on the tube and is there to line up the target before you look through the main eyepiece. The focusing wheel sits on the focuser, and the focus is adjustable.

The two supplied eyepieces set the magnification: one gives 50x, the other 100x. You change it by swapping one eyepiece for the other. The front lens carries a lens cap, which comes off before observing.

The educational booklet comes in seven languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Italian and Portuguese. It contains the assembly instructions and tells you about the Moon, the planets, satellites and stars.

That is the difference between looking and understanding: if you want to watch the stars with children, the booklet supplies the background. As a STEAM toy, the set brings science, technology, art and mathematics together in an object you can actually pick up.

The tripod is made of aluminium and its height reaches up to 1.20 m. The tube goes on top of it, and the tripod is a fixed part of the set.

Everything arrives in a printed gift box measuring 75.8 x 24 x 9.5 cm, with a weight of 369 g. The box is already printed, so no extra wrapping is needed. The telescope is made in Portugal.

The assembly instructions are in the booklet, and it is worth a look before you start. The finderscope is there for lining up the target, and you choose the magnification through the eyepiece, either 50x or 100x.

After observing, put the lens cap back on the front lens; that is what the cap is for. As a gift the set suits a birthday, Christmas or the start of the school year. Because the booklet comes in seven languages, everyone in a multilingual family can read it in their own language.
