When the British colonised India in the 18th century, their beers went off during the long boat ride. To remedy this, the British brewers took a good Pale Ale and added hops to protect it from the proliferation of bacteria. Hops have anti-bacterial properties thanks to the essential oils they contain.
This is how the India Pale Ale was born, a beer that is generously hopped.
Indian Pale Ale ( I.P.A.) is subtly bitter, it offers intense flavours of exotic fruits and more particularly of passion fruit. The complexity of the different malts used softens the sensation of bitterness and gives a well-balanced beer. This I.P.A. will delight you during the summer months and will certainly become your new favourite!
